Modern Edgar Allan Poe

This piece is a combination of Edgar Allan Poe's "The City in the Sea" and a modern day social issue. The way I interpreted this poem and a modern issue is how industrialization has polluted our air and causes difficulty in breathing outside. I wanted to show pollution's gruesome damage by showing a girl unable to participate in playing outside because of the terrible air conditions.
